Tension Headaches

Tension Headaches and how to relieve them: I wanted to share a little about what I learned at the last ART conference I attended in Colorado Springs a little over a week ago.

Tension Headaches can result when the suboccipital muscles at the base of our skull on the backside of our head can tighten and begin compressing the tiny nerves that supply our head.  This tension can cause headaches in the back of the neck, on the side, around the ear and even pain behind the eyes.  This tension can even be linked to TMJ or jaw tension.  Although watching our posture and relaxing our upper-back, neck and jaw is helpful it may not be enough to break the tension cycle that our muscles are in.

If you are struggling with a headache that may be related tension at the base of your skull, please come in so I can use my chiropractic techniques, including A.R.T., to help you.
